Meet Heidi
Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Dr. Heidi Nichilo, a Registered Social Worker with over 18 years of experience in mental health. My career has taken me through community agencies, hospitals, private practice, and nonprofit leadership—each experience shaping my deep commitment to supporting both clients and mental health professionals.
I know firsthand that navigating life’s challenges—whether anxiety, trauma, divorce, or difficult family dynamics—can feel overwhelming. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in neuroscience, evidence-based therapy, and real-world experience. Together, we’ll work to understand your patterns, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
For clinicians, I offer clinical supervision and postvention support, helping professionals manage the emotional demands of this field while staying connected to their purpose. Since 2013, I’ve been guiding therapists through trauma work, burnout prevention, and professional growth using developmental and reflective practice models.
My areas of focus include:
✨ Anxiety, OCD & Phobias
✨ Trauma & Vicarious Trauma
✨ Divorce & Blended Families
✨ Survivors of Emotional Abuse & Parental Alienation
✨ Suicide Postvention Support for Clinicians
In addition to private practice and supervision, I’m also Associate Faculty in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at CityU Canada, where I teach and mentor future mental health professionals.
Whether you’re a client seeking support, a clinician looking for supervision, or an organization needing postvention guidance—I’m here to help. Let’s navigate this journey together.
