Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma & Relationship Struggles in Ottawa (and across Ontario)

You’ve done everything “right.” You work hard, you show up for others, and from the outside, things look fine. But internally, you feel constantly on edge—anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you're navigating a difficult divorce, trying to co-parent with someone emotionally abusive, or healing from years of self-doubt and people-pleasing.

You’re exhausted from second-guessing yourself and walking on eggshells. You're tired of anxiety running your life. You want clarity, peace, and healthier boundaries—but you’re not sure how to get there.

You’re not alone—and it’s not too late to feel different.

Together, we’ll make sense of the patterns keeping you stuck and build skills to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. Whether you’re managing anxiety or OCD, healing from emotional abuse, or figuring out how to protect your peace in a blended family, we’ll work at your pace using evidence-based approaches and compassionate, non-judgmental support.

Compassionate Counselling

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but understanding the neurobiology behind it is a powerful tool for change. I take an integrative approach, combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help reframe anxious thoughts and develop emotional regulation skills. Exposure therapy, when appropriate, allows for gradual desensitization to anxiety triggers. I also incorporate humanistic and client-centered techniques, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore underlying concerns. As someone with lived experience, I understand the toll anxiety can take and emphasize strengths-based strategies to foster resilience.

2

Trauma

Trauma impacts both the mind and body, influencing thoughts, emotions, and nervous system regulation. My work is trauma-informed, acknowledging how past experiences shape present challenges. I draw from neurobiological research to help clients understand how trauma is stored in the brain and body, utilizing a mix of somatic awareness, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic approaches to process and release distressing memories. Whether working through acute trauma or complex PTSD, I support clients in restoring a sense of safety and empowerment.

3

Divorce

Divorce is not just a legal process. It’s an emotional upheaval that can affect identity, relationships, and well-being. My approach blends CBT, EFT, and psychodynamic exploration to process grief, loss, and life transitions. I provide space to navigate co-parenting dynamics, boundary setting, and self-rebuilding. Having experienced divorce firsthand, I offer both professional expertise and a deep personal understanding of the emotional complexities involved.

4

Emotional Abuse

Emotional abuse can erode self-worth, distort reality, and create deep-seated patterns of self-doubt. I help clients recognize the impact of manipulative dynamics, gaslighting, and coercive control while rebuilding self-trust and confidence. Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, I integrate CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic techniques to unravel conditioned responses and establish healthier relational patterns. With lived experience navigating these challenges, I provide compassionate guidance for healing, boundary-setting, and reclaiming personal power.

4

Blended Families

Blending a family brings unique joys and challenges, from navigating new roles to managing co-parenting complexities. My work incorporates family systems theory, attachment-based interventions, and strengths-based strategies to foster communication, connection, and emotional security. I provide practical tools for addressing loyalty conflicts, discipline differences, and relationship-building between stepparents and children. Having personally experienced the intricacies of blending a family, I offer both professional insight and a firsthand understanding of what it takes to create harmony in a new family structure.
